MadeApt is a Perth-founded custom clothing platform and global tailoring collective helping women create custom made dresses for work, events, weddings, travel, and everyday life — designed online, made to your measurements, and sewn by skilled tailors and artisans.
Your dress starts with your measurements, your proportions, your fabric, your fit preferences, and the way you want to feel when you wear it. Instead of choosing the closest standard size, MadeApt helps create a dress around your body and your idea.
That might mean adjusting the bust, waist, shoulder, sleeve, hemline, neckline, length, hip room, or overall silhouette before the dress is made — so it feels like it was made with you in mind.

Branch your dress from any starting point, and MadeApt turns it into a clear brief a tailor can understand — neckline, sleeves, waist placement, skirt shape, length, fabric, lining, seams, fit notes, proportions, and construction details.

From the everyday to the once-in-a-lifetime — made for how you live.

Polished, comfortable, and wearable for work — made to your measurements, office style, neckline, sleeve length, fabric, and movement needs. Structured or relaxed, minimal or expressive.

For birthdays, dinners, conferences, launches, graduations, holidays, and formal events — personal without being costume-like. Start with a mood, colour, or reference, then adjust fabric, shape, and fit.

Special, comfortable, and right for the setting — built around the season, location, dress code, fabric, colour, sleeve length, and how much structure or movement you want.

A custom dress doesn’t need to be dramatic. Breathable fabric, proper fit, useful pockets, the right length, sleeves you actually like, and a shape that works with your body.

MadeApt dresses are made to your measurements instead of a standard size chart. Especially useful if you are:
Depending on the design, a custom made dress can be personalized in ways that affect both fit and feeling:

For Australian weather, breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, silk, lightweight wool, and selected blends can be especially useful depending on the season, occasion, and how you want the dress to sit. Custom dressmaking isn’t just about shape — it’s about choosing the right fabric for your body, climate, and life.

MadeApt was founded in Perth, Western Australia, and works with makers across an international tailoring collective. Each dress is matched with the maker best suited to its fabric, construction, fit, and design. Technology helps with design exploration, measurements, garment briefs, and production communication — but the dress itself is sewn, fitted, and finished by a person.

Begin with a MadeApt design, reference image, community-shared dress, moodboard, sketch, prompt, or fabric direction. You don’t need a finished design before you start.

commit 02
MadeApt helps clarify the dress before it reaches the maker — neckline, sleeve, hemline, waist placement, skirt shape, fabric, lining, fit notes, measurements, and construction. If something isn’t realistic to sew, we suggest the closest version that can be made beautifully.

commit 03
We guide you through taking your measurements with a soft measuring tape. Your dress is made to your measurements, not a standard size, and they can be securely stored to make future orders easier.

commit 04
Once the brief is ready, your custom dress is matched with a tailor or artisan in the MadeApt network — based on the dress style, fabric, structure, complexity, and production needs.

commit 05
Your maker cuts, sews, finishes, and prepares your dress from your measurements and brief. This is where it becomes real: fabric, seams, fitting logic, finishing, pressing, and human craft.

commit 06
Once complete, your dress is prepared and shipped with tracked delivery. Most garments take 2–3 weeks from the time your tailor accepts the order; shipping time is additional and depends on your location.

Off-the-rack dresses are made before anyone knows who will wear them. A brand chooses the size chart, fit model, length, fabric, neckline, waist placement, and proportions, and you choose the closest size and hope it works. With MadeApt, the dress starts with your measurements, your fit needs, and your design preferences.
Traditional dressmaking can be beautiful, but hard to access — finding a local dressmaker, sourcing fabric, explaining your idea, attending fittings, and understanding construction. MadeApt makes it easier to start online: describe your idea in plain language, use a reference or existing design, measure at home, and have it made by a skilled maker.
Print-on-demand usually means adding artwork or text to an existing blank garment. MadeApt is different — it helps create and personalize the actual dress: the cut, fabric, fit, proportions, shape, and construction.
MadeApt dresses are made after they are ordered. We don’t produce rows of dresses in standard sizes before anyone wants them — no overstock, no unsold size curve, no pressure to clear garments made for nobody in particular. Made-to-order production helps make the process more intentional from the beginning.
