custom made fashion in australia.DESIGNED ONLINE · MADE TO YOUR MEASUREMENTS

MadeApt is a custom clothing platform and global tailoring collective founded in Perth, Western Australia. We help customers in Australia design, personalize, and order made-to-measure clothing sewn by skilled tailors and artisans across our international maker network.

Custom clothing, made for your body

Most clothing asks you to choose the closest size. We don’t.

Your garment starts with your measurements, your preferences, your fabric, your body, and your brief. Instead of choosing from standard sizing, you can create or personalize a piece and have it made for you by a tailor.

This is custom made fashion for people who want clothing that fits better, feels more personal, and is made with more care.

A Perth-founded global collective

Local enough to understand you. Global enough to make it well.

MadeApt began in Perth with a simple belief: clothing should be made around the person wearing it. Today we connect customers in Australia with independent tailors, artisans, and workshops across our international maker network. Each garment is matched with the maker best suited to its fabric, construction, fit, and design.

No appointment. Start from anything.

You don’t need to visit a tailor in person. Branch your piece from any starting point, and MadeApt turns it into a clear garment brief — measurements, fabric, fit, colour, cut, proportions, seams, and finishing — then has it made to order.

Made-to-measure for Australian women

Standard sizing fails because bodies are not standard.

Two people can wear the same size and have completely different proportions — more room through the bust, a shorter torso, a narrower shoulder, a longer sleeve, a lower waist, a different hem. MadeApt garments are made to your measurements, not a generic size chart. Especially useful if you are:

The goal is not to make your body fit the clothes. The goal is to make the clothes with your body in mind.

Ethical custom fashion in Australia

Your order is the moment your garment starts existing.

MadeApt is built around made-to-order production. No racks of unsold sizes, no seasonal overstock, no pressure to clear garments made for nobody in particular. We prioritise quality fabrics, natural fibres where possible, longer-lasting construction, and direct relationships with makers — making the person behind the garment visible again.

commit 01

Start with an idea or design

Choose a MadeApt piece, clone a community design, upload a reference image, describe a garment, or start with a fabric, mood, or silhouette. You don’t need a finished design before you begin.

Personalize the garment

Depending on the piece, you may adjust the fabric, colour, neckline, sleeve length, hemline, fit, proportions, and styling details. MadeApt helps clarify the design so it can become a real garment, not just a beautiful image.

Take your measurements at home

We guide you through taking your measurements at home with a soft measuring tape. Your garment is made to your measurements instead of standard sizing, and they can be securely stored so future orders are easier.

Your garment is made to order

Your tailor cuts, sews, finishes, and prepares the garment from your measurements and brief. This is where the piece becomes real: fabric, seams, fit, finishing, pressing, and human craft.

Without the old couture gatekeeping

Custom clothing, made approachable.

Traditional custom clothing can feel intimidating — finding a dressmaker, sourcing fabric, understanding construction, attending fittings, speaking the language of tailoring. MadeApt lets you start online, describe what you want in normal language, measure at home, and have your garment made by a tailor. More personal than ready-to-wear, more accessible than bespoke.

Made for hot Australian weather

The right fabric for your climate.

For warmer climates, fabric matters. Linen, cotton, silk, lightweight wool, and breathable blends make a garment more comfortable for workwear, events, and everyday pieces. The same design feels completely different in crisp cotton, fluid silk, structured linen, or warm wool — so MadeApt helps you choose before your garment is made.

What makes custom made fashion different.

off-the-rack → madeapt

Off-the-rack clothing is made before you arrive. A brand chooses the size chart, fabric, proportions, colour, fit, and length, and you choose the closest available option and hope it works. With MadeApt, your garment starts with your measurements and preferences, made after you order.

- Off-the-rack asks: “Which size are you?”
+ MadeApt asks: “What are your measurements, and how should this garment work for you?”
print-on-demand → madeapt

Many “design your own clothes” services are actually print-on-demand: they let you add artwork, graphics, or text to existing blank garments. MadeApt helps you design or personalize the garment itself — the cut, fabric, fit, proportions, shape, and construction details.

- Print-on-demand changes the surface.
+ MadeApt changes the garment.
For work, events, and everyday life

Clothing that feels like it belongs to you.

MadeApt is for clothing you actually want to wear — a dress for a conference, a tailored piece for work, a special occasion outfit, a wedding guest dress, a coat you keep for years, or a wardrobe staple made properly for your measurements.

The goal is not to create something theatrical unless that is what you want. The goal is to create clothing that feels like it belongs to you.
